| I have booked a few days this July at Stratton. Got a brochure as
an insert in Golf Digest. It isn't cheap, but....
Daily rates per person run from $75-$80 midweek. This includes your
room, a round of golf and a cart, plus club storage, a visor and
bag tags.
They have a Golf School, which is offered in a weekend package,
or a 5 day package. 2 day weekend is $390 PPDO, and the 5 day pkg
is about $650 PPDO. Lunch is included, plus the school, videotape
analysis of your game (I'm too embarassed for that!), and your golf
and cart. Meals are your responsibility on all packages.
The course is supposed to be great, along with the scenery. We (mu
wife and I) have booked the plain ol' Golf Package for 4 days midweek.
That's all we felt we could spring for.
They have 27 holes, all designed by Geoffrey Cornish. There is a
"Lake" 9, a "Forest" 9, and a "Mountain" 9. We probably will not
try the "Mountain" 9.............

| Checkout the "Pebble Beach" o` de Great White North aka. The Samoset
Resort in Rockland Me. off U.S. Rte 1. It and Poland Springs in
the "Olden Days" train loads of "Outa Stata's" use ta come up hea!
I guess they are more resorts than most if you trace there Heritage
back. There is also a new and very difficult (Narrow) course at
Sugarloaf in Caribassit Vally (sp), it's more noted for it's winter
skiing, but is now claiming a 4 season Resort, tennis, hiking etc.
Samosets the better deal as you get the best of the seafood in the
N.E. and Camden is just next door (Payton Place film site). More
info drop a line. NM%RANGLY::FREEMAN_KEVI
