1183.0. "Redundant power supply-internal storage drawers" by HGOVC::NANDAN () Thu Apr 24 1997 12:09

    This pertains to the internal storage drawers in the AlphaServer
    8200 and 8400, i.e the BA656-AA and the BA660-AB.

    1. What are the redundant shelf power supply part nos for -
       BA656-AA -
       BA660-AB -

    2. Can these redundant shelf power supplies be put into any slot,
       or do they occupy specific slots ?

    Thanks in advance.

1183.18200 and 8400 use the BA35X-HG (48VDC power supply)LANDO::DROBNERTurboLaser Engineering - 8200/8400Tue Apr 29 1997 13:3618

    Remember on both the 8200 and 8400 systems we run the "internal"
    StorageWorks shelves off of 48VDC power. YOU must select the
    redundant power supply for the StorageWorks shelve that has a
    input voltage of 48VDC.

    The part number to use is; BA35X-HG
    See System and Options catalog (SOC) 8400 page 2.188 (7-APR-97).

    Where to place this BA35X-HG redundant power supply -- YOU must
    place the power supply NEXT the existing power supply in that
    StorageWork shelve. The reason for this is that the BA35X-HG
    includes a short "Y-cable" to allow both power supply to connect
    to the 48VDC pigtail from the system (only one pigtail per shelve
    is available).

    Howard,

    Thank you for that very explicit answer.
