I just looked at the 8000 Systems Specification on the alphaserver inside page. We stats 'up to 14 CPUs', but when I look at the stated maximum SPECint-rate95 and SPECfp-rate95 numbers, as fas as I can figure, these relate to 12 CP machines. Do we have 14CP measure ? Ta

Assume lovely scaling for specint (much like on 300 mhz 2/4/6/8/10/12 cpus) Assume nothing at all for SPECfp, because when you have an application that is sensitive to main memory bandwidth, you would not want to fill up all the possible TL slots with CPUs, leaving hardly any room for memory. TL *likes* interleaving. /john |
