Thre is a conflict in the November 96 SOC as to the number of CIPCA (PCI CI cards) that are supported on the 8400. According to the 8400 SCO entry on 2.183 only 2 CIPCA per PCI are allowed and only 2 per system. According to the OpenvVMS Cluster Systems Configuration Details on 5.8 a total of 10 CIPCA are supported under 6.2-xxx and 26 under V7.1 Who is right?

Have you checked in VMSland? Yes, the SOC has basically valid info, but it usually doesn't have the absolute latest and greatest info ALL the time. My understanding is that 10 are supported under V6.2-1H3, but you'd need to check the VMS SPD OR with engineering to find out exactly what is SUPPORTED. bob

The SOC is a set of guidelines. The SPD is the equivalent of a legal contract. FJP

We originally supported 2/system, because that's what we managed to qual by CIPCA FRS. Since then, we've upped the levels: 4/PCI and 10/system with VMS 6.2-something (1H3?) 0/PCI and 0/system with VMS 7.0 4/PCI and 26/system with VMS 7.1 and later. Cheers, Bob
