1124.0. "SHELF_OK signal on KFTIA FWD SCSI ?" by TLAV01::IAN () Thu Mar 06 1997 05:38
Hi,
Regarding the KFTIA FWD ports. Do the Qlogic ISP1020 chips (at
firmware rev V2.10) support a signal called "SHELF_OK" ?
Thanks,
Ian.
The reason that I ask:
I'm installing a BA660-AB into an 8400. This contains 2 x BA356-LB
shelves. I intend to install some RZ29B-VW's in the shelf and connect
back to the KFTIA with DWZZB-VW (in slot 0) - BN21K-02 - BN21W-0B -
H879-AA.
There are 2 small jumpers on the backplane of the BA356 which
determine what happens to the SHELF_OK signal. If the KFTIA supports
SHELF_OK and I'm using a DWZZB on port 0, then the book suggests I
jumper W2 pair of pins.
The book also states, SHELF_OK, is the result of logically "anding" a
signal based on the speed of all blowers on the shelf and the "power good"
signals for all power units on the shelf.
Considering a BA356-LB has no blowers, what's the status of this
SHELF_OK signal ?
