We've received info that indicates that CIXCD Microcode Rev 8 may have problems, and is being withdrawn. We had just gone thru the latest firware CD (version 3.8, I think), and updated everything to the most recent firmware. If we downgrade to Rev 7 CIXCD Microcode, will we have any conflicts or issues with the OTHER versions we have loaded? 1113.1 | We went back to V5 of CIXCD.bin | FREEBE::YATKOLA | _Dave ....... | Thu Feb 20 1997 11:26 | 12 |
Bob; The word I heard is don't use V8 or V7 or V6 of the CIXCD uCode. Drop back to V5 of the CIXCD uCode until they understand what the issue is with V8. This is what we have done for one of our large cluster sites who had some of the INVEXCPTN's in PNdriver w/ R2 being f-f's. Hope this helps. Dave Y.
1113.2 | Use last stable version - no version conflicts. | PROXY::MOORE | Tom Moore PK1/B1 DTN-223-6309 | Thu Feb 20 1997 15:47 | 15 |
This is case of availible data. We have three customers that upgraded from V5 to V8 and then fell back to V5. I am working on validating an hypothisis that a change made to V8 is the cause. We have not been able to recreate the problem internally and would not expect a customer to put his business at risk needlessly to vslidate a fix. I have a report of a site that used V6, V7 & V8 without problems. The recomendation is to fallback to your last stable revision. There are no version conflict problems known between different versions of the CIXCD firmware, versions of the console, version of any other option or versions of the pndriver. Please see the CLUSTER notes file for news. Please send me updates on you experience with V8, V7 or V6
