136.0. "A special Caddy" by SWAM2::WOYAK_JI () Wed Jun 08 1994 11:49

I got a call from my local Caddy dealer a few days ago..My friend is
the sales manager there plus I have bought a couple from them..Anyway
he asked if I would be interested in testing a seville with some
special mods from the factory that they are trying to get opinions
    about..I said sure...
Turns out it is a Seville STS..The interior is the same as the
current ones except the front buckets are like Recarro's and all
adjustments are electric..It had all the gauges (analog) nicely
put into the pod..On the outside it had 245/35 X 17 tires on some
really different looking wheels, slight groud effects stuff, nothing
to gaudy but subtle..It was about 2" lower than a stock on and it is
suppose to lower itself as you gain speed. The suspension was retuned
to more performance. The engine was the Northstar but retuned to ,
they said "around 340 to 360 " or so..
WOW, was this some ride..The handling was as good as most anything
I have been in..Very predictable and flat..There was very little front
wheel drive effect at any speed..The power was wonderfull.Smooth and
quick all the way to the 6800 red line..I have no idea if this will
ever make production but it is one luxo hotrod..

Hmmm, just today I read a tidbit in one of the 4WD mags that Caddy is
also hinting that it may have an upscale version of the new Chevy Tahoe
for 1996 (The new name for the *real* Blazer since they also call those
baby things Blazers). Anyway, it'll have some the of typical Caddy
niceties inside. The awesome part is that it'll have a 300 HP LT1 under
    the hood.

I'm amazed that Chevy is gonna let the Caddy folks beat them to the
punch. I've just been waiting for Chevy to build a big Blazer with the
LT1 under the hood. I'd be down there standing in line for one.
Imagine, a nice, new, shiny version of the ThunderTruck(tm). :-)
