2797.0. "Book recommendation" by PIANST::JANZEN (Thomas MLO21-4/E10 223-5140) Fri Dec 20 1991 10:30

	Hello. There is a firmware engineer here who would like to make a
	new ws play a little tune (I pointed out to her, public domain).
	You and I learned about synthesis from hundreds of articles and
	dozens of books. Is there today one book that will carry an
	engineer in text book form from R-2R ladders to data rates to
	delta compression to Nyqvist to waveform synthesis to musical
	sounds to musical scales to convolution reverb algorithms?

The best "all-in-one" which I've found is "The Elements of Computer Music," by
F. Benjamin Moore.

    I'd recommend Hal Chamberlin's book.

     I would recomend The book .1 suggests, I am currently reading it. It
seems quite informative. One note, the authors name is F. Richard Moore.
The book is published by prentice hall, the isbn number is 0-13-252552-6.

Re -1:

Thanks for the correction on the author's name- what with the publishing company,
the paint manufacturer, and all that, I guess "the Moore's the merrier..."

(gad, that's terrible!)
