2580.0. ""The Lone Fader"" by WEFXEM::COTE (There wasn't even any Hollywood!) Sat Feb 23 1991 18:21
Since I like the idea of having mix instructions inbedded in the
sequence, I was real interested in Craig Anderton's "Lone Fader",
published in the latest "Keyboard". Interested enough to build one.
Couldn't be much easier, and works just great. It's nothing more than a
10K fader mounted to a stero cord, which in turn plugs into the pedal
input on my DX.

I mounted mine in a 2X4" plastic box, and used an old headphone cable
with a 1/4" jack on each end. Total price for the box, 2 jacks and
plugs, plus the fader was $8.50. Construction time was .5 hour, most
of that spent drilling 2 holes. ("Where's my chuck key?")
If I've any complaint, it's with the pot taper (linear). It seems to
hit 90% of the level about 50% thru the travel. I used a big knob, so
no big deal...
