2538.1 | welcome in the Real World (of MIDI) | PAULUS::BAUER | Richard - ISE L10N Center Frankfurt | Thu Jan 10 1991 02:49 | 16 |
| Hallo Gnter !
Nice to see you here !!!
I would STRONGLY recommend to buy an ATARI instead of the IBM. It's under
1000 DM over here. There is a brandnew SW package that does just what you asked
for, but again, it run's on the ATARI. I don't remember the name, but there was
a review in the January issue of "Fachblatt", but I seem to recall that you're
in the US. So if you're interested I can send you a xerox of the article (or
maybe even a DDIF if you're in a hurry).
Just let me know...
best regards
Richard

| Hi Gnther !
I just wrote a note into the GUITAR notesfile that describes the
package "Advanced Guitar Tabulator", I was referring to. There's also
hope for you to get ATARI functionalitiy on the IBM PC. I talked to a
system house that is planning plug-in boards for the PC which contains
the necessary HW to run ATARI SW, hence the processor (no emulation).
It rus with various graphics boards and MPU401 or compatible boards.
best regards
Richard

| Thanks for the replies! So far I figured out that "Play it by Ear" is
the only PC music software that shows a guitar fret but is a training
program. It doesn't let me write my own music but seems to be something
I want/need. It uses MIDI IN/OUT to have you listen and play certain
parts. Not bad - I'll go and get it!
