I have verified that as of 12/90, this company still exists and

- These guys work part-time, so do leave a message on their machine. They
have always been very good at getting back to me. I don't remember what
I paid for my GR-700 Midi IN Mod, but I am very happy with it. The Midi
IN mod uses the PG-200 external programmer UART to do MIDI IN. Since this
GR-700 does not have SYSEX available (only PG-200 commands), the MIDI IN
will not allow programming of the Synth sounds, only patch change (?) and
Midi note. The PG-200 will not work in MIDI IN mode, only in MIDI guitar
controller mode. This is a draw back, but I use my guitar to program
the sounds, then switch to keyboard. The PG-200 definitely helps, but
you can program sounds with the guitar controller OR using the membrane
switches on the GR-700 itself. An external (plugs into jack) footswitch
or a GR-700 mounted footswitch (like mine) switches you from guitar
controller to MIDI IN, never both at the same time. Check it out!
