Does anyone have any experience with M or Jam Factory? I have been reading the old CMJ article about them, but still can't imagine getting music out of them. Actually, I think only M is available for Amiga. Thanks Tom

M is currently being sold by Dr. T's for the Atari too. I haven't received it yet. /pjh

Actually, Tom said "only M" is available for the Amiga (not Jam Factory). He didn't say "M is only" available for the Amiga. Nearly all of Dr Ts Amiga stuff is also available on Atari. Dave

It's this kind of discussion that makes me wish that I were only the person in the whole conference. Tom ;-)

There is a MAC floppy that has a time-limited license, which contains BOTH 'M' and Jam Factory. I have it. I've used it. Or rather, tried to. I could never get Jam Factory to do anything. Incredibly confusing user interface. 'M' was a different story. You set up 'players' that talk on one or more MIDI channels, with all kindsa numeric parameters controlling how they play. I found that 'M' sent out some weird SYSEX or something and completely hosed my setup on my KX88 - I had to reprogram it completely. Needless to say that was the last time I experimented with 'M'. karl |
