Are you looking for Yamaha *brand* carts? There are dozens of
mail-order houses who sell third-party carts with patches for the
DX-11, just check out the current issues of KEYBOARD or ELECTRONIC
MUSICIAN (assuming you're in the US).

| Are you looking for sounds or cartridges to hold them in. There are a few
hundred public domain DX100/TX81z/DX11 sounds floating around that you can get
for free (or close.

| If you can find empty cartridges, I have a few hundred sounds on a disk you
could load onto the cartridges and save. While that sounds easy, we would have
to hook up your synth to my pc to do that. Or any PC with a system exclusive
utility and a midi interface. If the DX11 has cassette interface, I could dump
them to a cassette from my TX81z.
Just an idea.

| I do have a cassette interface with the DX11. I have'nt used it yet,
but I would be willing to give it a shot. Lets talk on this. Do you
want me to send you a cassette first or last? I am at DTN 385-2948, or
outside 404-772-2948. Thanks I feel I am getting closer.

| re: .-all
I am interested in getting sounds. I have tried the DX-11 cassette
interface, and it was so painful, I called Computerware and bought
the editor librarian (Opcode). Glad I did.
I think .4 said they had a disk.... can it be copied (since this is
Public Domain stuff) and mailed, or (perhaps better) uploaded to DEC
central, and then I can fetch it, or even e-mail the file to me
(perhaps methinks we need a commanal upload/download here -- I have a
MAC which uses Stuffit)... I'm flexible.
If it requires sending me a cassette which I then turn into Opcode
disk files, which are then uploaded for others to enjoy.... well,
I can do that. Of course I'll obey the DEC rules, too.
Moderator -- if this suggestion is too out-of-policy, delete this
note, and I'll send e-mail to the party directly, and work through
the US Post. Thanks.

OK, I'm guilty of false info....I checked a January 1989 KEYBOARD
directory of patches for the DX-11 in particular and 4-op FM machines
in general and found NO listings for stuff on carts. I also looked
through ads for blank carts and found NO carts for Yamaha machines!!
Not even from Yamaha....
Sounds like tape is the only solution if you have no PC.

| Out on DYO780::... Midilib someplace - referred to in other notes - are some
ARC'ed TX81Z patches - I think it was something like 27 banks of 32 each.
Dounload them to your favorite PC and use an UN-ARCing program to separate
them. You would then need some way to shove the SYS-ex dump to the DX11.
I think I used enough acronyms in the previous paragraph
