2167.0. "Boy Scouts could use musical leaders" by MILKWY::JANZEN (cf. ANT::CIRCUITS,ANT::UWAVES) Thu Nov 16 1989 16:59
The Boy Scouts of America often try to organize young people around interest
groups. They perform surveys of young people's career interests and hobby
interests at high schools, for example, and then try to form "posts" around
the popular interests. Adults are needed who are expert in the fields
represented by these interests in order to guide the young people in their
pursuits. Of course, many young people are interested in rock, music,
and computer music, and often own the same equipment we do. They might meet
once a week and exchange ideas and musical knowledge with you and one another.
If you would be interested in participating as a post leader or similar
you could call Gail Pare at BSOA in Framingham, Massachusettes: 872 6551.
Otherwise, if you are interested as I was in a one-time discussion with young
people about alternatives in life plans, and other chances to exchange
thoughts with young people, call Gail then as well.
