2148.0. "Looking for Appegiator" by UTROP1::BOVENJ () Thu Oct 26 1989 13:21

    Hi,

I'm looking for a realtime Arpegiator. Some synths (like Korg Polysix or
DW8000) have arpegiators built in. There's an effectmodule from
AKAI which is called arpegiator, but which in fact is more a mini
sequencer (so: no real time arpegiator effects possible).

Is there anyone who knows a hard- or software solution for this
(my set-up is Atari MegaST-2, D-10, FB01, CLAB Notator, etc.)

    Thanks!

Last year, Oberhiem introduced three hardware devices that did
midi "stuff". One of them was an arpeggiator. It was reveiwed
in keyboard magazine, and I think they liked it (I don't remember which
issue). I believe the name of the unit was the CYCLONE. There is
some talk of these units in note 1835.

Get an EMAX. Sync to your external sequencer. Turn on its internal
sequencer by enabling track record. PLay the part on the EMAX, which
will arpeggiate your part AND record it into the internal sequencer.
Then set up your external sequencer to record, and play the EMAX
    arpeggiated sequence into it.

I know it's not the best way to use C-lab, but you could do pseudo
arpeggios using Ghost tracks and/or (realtime) Transforms.

    Thanks,

Think I will check out the Cyclone (if I can find one, Oberheim is not the
most widely distributed manufacturer here in Holland). If I don't
succeed I'll add another topic, maybe there are some proud owners
    in the commusic society...

Another midi machines from Roland is a sort of sophisticated
arpegiator, plus rhythm section and much others.
It's an expander version of Roland E-20 Intelligent synthesizer.

The Roland code is PK50 (or PR50...). With different stile cards, you
are able to built different music style.

I've playd it in a demo center, and I have very apreciated, but not
    buied,it.

If you need other info, I can post here the description of the unit
made on the ROLAND GENERAL CATALOGUE 1989.

Sounds interesting. My musicstore didn't have the catalog you
mentioned, so YES, I would appreciate a copy if possible. My address
is: Jeroen van Boven @UTO (Utrecht, the Netherlands). Any idea what
the price of this unit is?

    thanks and best regards,
    Jeroen
