2086.0. "DIYer seeks address." by KAOFS::D_STJEAN (CSC's/RDC's of the world, Unite!) Fri Aug 18 1989 00:14

I know the following it not quite in keeping with what generally
goes on here, but I'm not quite sure where else I would have asked
this.

In the January/82 issue of Guitar Player, Craig Anderton had a DIY
"Chorus/Delay" project using a Reticon SAD4096 (analog delay line)
and an NE570 compander chip. These along with circuit boards were
available from PGS electronics in Terre Haute, IN. I've tried
contacting them, but they have moved. Would anybody out there know
if they are still in business and at what address?

I know there are a lot of digital devices out there that will
outperform this project, but the joy is in DIY, besides I already
have ths chips :-), now I need the boards!

Thanks,

Denis.

On the contrary, this is *exactly* the conference you want to be in for
this! Unfortunately, I don't know their address, but I did want to welcome
you and encourage you to participate!

2086.2Try information?DYO780::SCHAFERBrad - back in Ohio.Fri Aug 18 1989 11:396
Silly idea, but have you tried calling information (1-a/c-555-1212)?

Indiana isn't so big that there are that many area codes. Unless
they've gone out of business, Ma Bell should still know about them.

The name sounds familiar to me. I think they also make kits. Ask also in
the OVDVAX::ELECTRO_HOBBY conference.

Thanks all! I'll try the ELCTRO_HOBBY and see what happens.
If I find anything I'll post here for future reference.

Denis.
2086.5You may not be able to get all the parts.CANDID::stephConstants aren't. Variables don't.Fri Aug 18 1989 16:594
I think the SAD chip is obscelete. I forget what the replacement part number is.

Well it seems I may be SOL! Guess I'll have to point-to-point wire
the boards myself and be real careful not to zap the chip.

I have a book on Musical Projects (of British origin) that makes
heavy use of TDA1022 analog delay chips. Does anybody have a pinout
for those, I'd like to try substituting some SAD1024's that I have.

Thanks again,

Denis.
2086.7Yup.TROA01::HITCHMOUGHWed Aug 23 1989 16:448
I have an old Mullard data sheet from way back in 1977 on the TDA1022.

Send me your mailing address and I'll send you a copy.
