An interesting note from "Mass High Tech" trade newspaper, p. 5. TAPELESS STUDIO SCHOOL "In Orlando FL, The Tapeless Studio is training operators for the Synclavier digital audio system and Direct-to-Disk digital multitrack recorder. "The program was designed by New England Digital Corporation, manufacturer and marketer of the Synclavier and Direct-to-Disk, and is being offered by Full Sail Center. "The center plans to graduate over 200 operators from the two-week program by the end of this year. The center owns two Synclaviers and one Direct-to-Disk system. "For more information, call (800) 221-2747."

1699.1 | let's all go be recording engineers next | SALSA::MOELLER | Wed Sep 28 1988 13:29 | 9
This training will probably be taken by established engineers. Sure don't see it as entry-level, because of the relative scarcity of the Synclavier. Entry-level training should be oriented toward EE background, minor in music, then extensive hands-on MIDI and computer work. Just like most of us, come to think of it.. karl
