IF any one would require a U.K. front end to this. I.e. someone
to phone them or order through, if it proves difficult from elsewhere,
then I would be happy to help out .

Is there a reason why there are more Atari offerings than PC or MAC? Is
there a "defacto" standard computer in U.K. recording studios (for sequencing,
librarian, etc)?
1655.3MARVIN::SCOTTBArry A. ScottTue Sep 06 1988 09:2317
The MAC costs a large fortune to buy in the U.K. about
double the U.S price, so few people buy them for fun. Up
market studios have them, along side the ST's.

Its only recently that PC software has been marketed in
the U.K. (probably europe). And the choice is still
limitd. Its only with the introduction of the Amstrad
PC's that the price and packaging was attractive for
MIDI work. You still need to add a 150 interface to get
	MIDI connections.

The ST on the other hand has been in the market place a
while. Its cheap, its got graphics, mouse and a MIDI
port builtin. There is lots of software, Steinbergs
PRO-24, being the a favority of many studios in the U.K.

...tried to add this rep 3 times now -- hardly worth it. Just wanted
to add that many musos work at home on an ST then take a diskette
or two into the studio for production/live overtracking. Even the
cheapest studio has an ST lurking somewhere these days. And when
it comes to demoing midi software, you'd be hard-pushed to find
a music shop in the UK with anything but an ST.
