Key Words: DMCS, Sonata font, Postscript, Score printing
-------------------------------------------------------------
I have DMCS (Deluxe Music Construcion Set) running on my
Mac Plus under System 4.2/Finder 6.0
I have been trying to print my scores using Postscript,
but am having a perplexing problem which neither the
Electronic Arts people nor the Macintosh noters
have been to solve. Help!
I am using the Apple Laserwriter driver and the "Command-f" trick
to produce a Postscript file of my scores.
I am also "Un-checking" the Font Substitution box, so that
(theoretically) all fonts used will be dumped in the Postscript
output file.
This works fine for all fonts *EXCEPT SONATA*! For some reason,
the driver refuses to dump the bitmap images of the Sonata 24
music font. Has anyone out there succeeded in doing this?
How is it done?

It seemed like there was another note with several replies that
discussed this problem in greater depth, but I can't find it now. Maybe
it was in the Mac notes file?
This exact problem was discussed in an article in the July issue of
MacUser. Basically, there is a font numbering conflict with the Sonata
fonts. It is distributed with both DMCS and ConcertWare (and probably
others), but they used different font IDs for it. In some configurations
it works, and in others the numbers get confused and the Mac dumps
Geneva instead.
I suggest you find the article--it tells how to fix the problem gives
more details.
