1382.0. "Yamaha SPX90 II Patch Exchange Note" by ANGORA::JANZEN (Tom LMO2/O23 296-5421) Sun May 15 1988 17:25
This is an Yamaha SPX-90-II patch exchange.
This is my actual patch set-up, as used in performances.
Later, I may add some other patches culled from various sources.
If Balance is not given, it is 100%.
Output Level is always 100%. I don't have a mixer (or serious synths).
I use the SPX with acoustic pianos and on voice. I use it hooked up in
series with other equipment: mic->preamp->Digitech RDS1900mixout->SPX->AMP.
The SPX90 comes with 30 usuable patches, and 60 spaces for user patches.
Yamaha published a Yamaha SPX90 Digital
Multi-Effect Processor Artist, Engineer, and Producer Applications
Guidebook but only a couple are from there.
The SPX90 Digital Multi-Effect Processor Yamaha Programming Guide
is a shorter instructional booklet.

When dumb reviewers said Laurie Anderson spoke through a
vocoder (which she did at times, such as in O, Superman)
they usually meant the Eventide Harmonizer. I de-harmonized
her voice from recordings to estimate this interval,
although she may have used another interval or changed it
over the years. This was done on the Language of the Future
Recording in United States. One critic said she lowered her
voice an octave. If she had, it would have been nearly
unintelligible.

Did you see Forbidden Planet? It's record came out a couple years
ago. Curtis Roads has said he was influenced by it. I don't
actually have the record, but I think this reminds me of the
sound I heard in the movie in 1969 and again last fall, but
that was oscillators FM modulated by the Barrons.

This only works if you have hardware triggering the pedal input regularly.
I built a 555-based circuit to do this, delivering variable rates of
TTL pulses into the pedal trigger. It becomes a variable loop.
