1208.1 | JX3-P, wunna my faves... | JAWS::COTE | Is he gonna buy? Or is he gonna pay? | Thu Feb 11 1988 16:45 | 14 |
| The JX3-P went for about $1300 dollars new. (A friend of mine owns
one. She paid close to that for it back maybe 4-5 years ago.)
$600 is far too much for it today. $400 is a fair deal. Make sure
it has the OMNI off upgrade if you intend to use it in a multi-
synth setup. The upgrade cost me $65 bucks at Union Music. See
a note titled "MIDI THRU BOX" by me somewhere in this file for
details about the upgrade.
But it's a damn nice synth.

| BTW - List price isn't a very useful thing when dealing with technology
that moves as fast as synths. Yesterday's wunderkind is today's
doorstop.

1208.3 | too much for the cz-1, barter it down | ECADSR::SHERMAN | No, Rodney. That's *old* science! ... | Thu Feb 11 1988 16:50 | 5 |
| Page 156 of the Jan. '88 classified ad under Rogue Music lists CZ-1's
going for $650. So, you could probably get one for around $600.
Maybe the owner can be talked down to $575.

ahh, but the JX-3P had a programmer box with it too... the PG200.
If it has one of those then 600 bucks should be a pretty fair price.
Besides, that's what I'd sell mine for if I was selling (I still
like it too much) :-)
/pjh...whose JX-3P has all the above and a road case too

1208.5 | Of course, the 128 event sequencer adds $2.95... | JAWS::COTE | Is he gonna buy? Or is he gonna pay? | Fri Feb 12 1988 08:22 | 6 |
| PG-200s are, worst case, $100 items. One of the noters here in Commusic
recently bought one for $85.
$600 is still too much...

| General concensus on the JX3P is correct - don't pay more than $400.
On the CZ-1 - some comment; Rogue Music in NY generally sells used equipment,
so the price there ($650) is for a used unit. BUT!!! Sam Ash in NY has been
selling the CZ-1 for $599 brand new!!!! If you want to spend $600, give them a
call - 1-800-4-SAM-ASH.

Attention noters. We have our price consultant for the DEC Music Society.
Don't even *think* about buying a piece of music gear without checking
with Dan first 8^)

1208.8 | get the PG200 | BEOWLF::BARTH | | Fri Feb 12 1988 12:20 | 12 |
| Anyone know of a PG200 for sale? I'll take it!
I bought my MKS30 module used, and love the sounds, but can't stand
programming it from the front panel; you just can't get as creative
as when you have all the controls at your fingertips.
I'd seriously think about getting the programmer too.
And, again, if anyone knows about one for sale (you know of any,
Edd?), please reply to this note or send me mail. Thanks.

1208.10 | I like JX3-Ps..... They be nice... | JAWS::COTE | Is he gonna buy? Or is he gonna pay? | Mon Feb 15 1988 08:18 | 8 |
| $249!! I'll take 2....
PG-200... The last one I saw was at Union Music. One of our fellow
note-oids picked it up for $85... They're kinda hard to find as
just about nobody has *just* a PG-200, they always have a PG-200
and a JX3-P/MKS-30....

| There was (as of Saturday) a lonesome PG-200 on the shelf at Only
Guitar, near Albany, NY. Don't recall price, seemed reasonable.
Phone # is (518) 371-1232. They ship UPS blue, and take credit
cards/phone orders.
