I'm just wondering if anyone out there has any experience with the IBM Music Feature. It is suppose to be an FB01 on a PC compatible board. MIX sells it for $499. I'm wondering if it would be worth getting. pcv

Sounds weird to me... I think Yamaha still has the rights to the FM architecture. I've a hard time swallowing the idea of them licensing the Fb01 circuitry to an OEM. Not to mention that the Fb01 is wirth about $200-$250. Do you get anything other than the tone generator (Sequencer? Patch editor?) for your $500??? For $499 you could easily buy 2 Fb01s.... Yes, you also get a PC Midi interface (not MPU-401 compatible). Normally these are big bucks. - Rick (who spent big bucks...) |
