         Say ! You there with an open-reel tape deck ! Yes, YOU.
    
    Been shopping for TAPE lately ? Had young clerks with funny haircuts 
    look at you strangely when you ask ?
    
    Then you get smart and go to your music dealer, they sell TASCAM
    and/or FOSTEX. "Yes, we have tape." "GREAT! How much for 7 inch
    Maxell UDX?" "Oh, we only carry Ampex 457. That's $18.95 per reel."

    aaargggh.. 8 months ago, my last buy, the tape I WANTED was $7.99
    per reel. I could get a slightly better price shopping in Phoenix,
    or get into a chancy deal involving illicit pancakes from a local
    studio, whenever THEY deign to order some.
    
    No, what I want is a good, FAST, reliable MAIL-ORDER SOURCE for
    open-reel tape !
    
    Got a 'source', buddy ?

    as highly recommended by a friend who owns a commercial studio.
    You can get tape on cardboard hubs and load the reels yourself and
    save big $$$. I got a 10 1/2" 1800' ampex 457 through him for $20
    he bought bulk and wound it for me. Good luck.

    I don't have a recent flyer to quote prices. I do know they sell
    both on hub and metal reel, with the best prices by the case. Since
    you have a studio it might be realistic for you to pick up a case.
