Can anyone recommend any synth or commusic available on CD? Digital
mastered recordings only.
Thanks

Wendy Carlos: Beauty in the Beast
Michael Mantler: Alien
Sanford Ponder: Private Music in the Land of Dry Water
Patrick O'Hearn: Ancient Dreams (overlooked, really fine)
Larry Fast (aka Synergy): Metropolitan Suite

Steve Roach: Empetus
Roach, Braheny, (third name escapes me): Western Spaces
Michael Hoenig: Xcept one (Hoenig played with Tangerine Dream long ago)
Michael Hoenig: Departure from the Northern Wasteland
David Torn: Cloud about Mercury (radical MIDI guitar)
Neil Nappe: July (Very Roland sounding...)
Gary Hughes: Sacred Cities (DX, sampling, good stuff)
Oops, these may not be digital source tapes. Why do you
care about this, anyway? All of the stuff on Private Music
is direct-to-digital. The first Patrick O'Hearn, and Sanford Ponder
discs are quite spectacular due to the recording quality and the
"house Fairlight," but creativity can get you the same impact for
a reasonable budget. Check out the CD of "Switched-on Bach." The
equipment used was priceless at the time, and valueless now, but
there is much timeless value in what was done with it--and it's
a flawless analog recording.
