I was strolling around Union Music last Saturday when I thought I overheard Greg in the keyboard dept. remark over the phone that Yamaha and Korg just did a merger. I was unable to ask about it any further while there. Has anyone heard about this? Was I hearing correctly? Dan

well, that's far enough after 2 martini lunch and far enough before happy hour. Maybe theres something to it, but both companys seemed to be doing alright (understatement). Cant see Korg buying Yam, but not viceverse... Yamakorg? Korghama? Were being put on. | |||||

That's old news, which I reported here over half a year ago. Yamaha has been trying to buy Korg because Korg was weak at that point (they have since come back with some new products that have been successful) and they were feeling their resources being drained by competing with them as well as Roland. I believe it was all reported on in Keyboard magazine last summer. Mark |
