602.0. "Celebrity Roast - Len Fehskens" by DYO780::SCHAFER (Sir Mount of Olives) Thu Dec 11 1986 15:41

Len has really gone out of his way to host various equipment demos and
    entertain unexpected drop-ins while enduring slams of his cats. ;-}

I dropped by Monday night while in the great north at training, and
even though he was quite tired, he allowed Dan Eaton and yours truly to
view his studio, taking time to explain why he approached things as he
did, and just generally shooting the breeze.

I would like to publically thank you, len - on behalf of all of us -
for your hospitality and for enduring those of us who are always
hitting you up for whatever reason. And thanks very much for showing
off your studio. I learned a great deal, especially how to NOT set up
    a drum kit. 8-)

As for you, Mr. Ross, I happen to think that Merlin was quite
personable, and I enjoyed his company as well (read: pfffffft).

    Are you blushing yet, len?

8^)

...Never been to a jam, or met Len in person, but I certainly
will join in on congratulating Len as being one of the people that
    makes this conference worthwhile.

    					Thanks for your input, Karl

Well, aw shucks, guys, I don't what to say other than "I don't know
what to say". I mean, I'm just another opinionated overpaid
technoweenie rock and roll drummer with arrested rhythmic development
who tries to make up for his musical deficiencies by buying a lot
of equipment and being a nice guy.

    len.

I don't know what the deal is here. I was just another opinionated overpaid
technoweenie rock and roll drummer with arrested rhythmic development
who tried to make up for his musical deficiencies by buying a lot
of equipment and being a nice guy when I was 6.

Too odd.

Gee. I think I got arrested once: About age 15, after 5
years of formal private percussion 'lessons'. Teacher says
    something like:
"OK, pal, flamadiddles, 13-stroke rolls, ratamaques, set-
techniques, "independence". Hit the street. Thats all you
    need."

Imagine my surprise and confusion. Wait a minute....did I
pass or fail the final? Was *that* the final? where am I?
    I think thats when I retracted my right <censored: non-medical term> .
And so despite arrestation....one 'goes on'.....

I took up keys. great philosophy: "I'll show em I can't master
    these things."

Oh well, when's the roast? Can I be a Roast-er?

I think this should be bigger than "the Jam".

    moi.
