565.1 | And I Didn't Much Care For It | ERLANG::FEHSKENS | | Tue Nov 11 1986 18:08 | 5 |
| There's a very brief "review" of the Amiga implementation of the
Music Studio elsewhere in this conference.

565.2 | EZ-track. | BEAGLE::MULELID | | Tue Nov 11 1986 18:21 | 8 |
| The EZ-track from Hybrid Arts will do it for you. I have it but
have not ben able to try it yet because my 520 ST do not yet have
the TOS in ROM. The EZ-track gives you 20 polyphonic tracks and
will hold up to 27000 notes in a 520 ST. I got mine direct from
Hybrid Arts and paid $ 65 for it.

565.4 | notes = events/2 | SAUTER::SAUTER | John Sauter | Wed Nov 12 1986 07:59 | 4 |
| re: .3--Note that 200,000 events generally means 100,000 notes,
assuming no aftertouch, pitch bending, etc. PRO-24 appears to
be missing the one feature I need the most: event-level editing.

565.5 | More PRO-24 info | CACHE::FONTAINE | | Wed Nov 12 1986 10:53 | 19 |
| John,
The PRO-24 does have event-level editing. It uses a system it
calls grid manipulation. You specify the position in the sequence
that you want to look at and it displays notes as bars showing note
on position, duration and note off. I believe time is displayed
on the Y axis and keyboard position (note number) on the X axis.
I will have to look at the lit. to verify this but in any case
the event positions can be moved with the mouse. Also on the right
hand side of the screen there is alpha-numeric info about each event
including velocity info which can be edited using the 520's keyboard.
The literature is fairly informative with good pictures of a couple
of different screens (all extremely graphic intensive and use the
mouse) but it leaves a few questions in my mind. If you want more
info there is a company in the U.S. out of L.A. marketing the software.
They are the Russ Jones Marketing Group. If you're interested I
can post the address and phone number.

565.6 | thanks | SAUTER::SAUTER | John Sauter | Wed Nov 12 1986 11:24 | 5 |
| Thank you, having event-level editing makes the product much
more useful to clods like me who have trouble playing "chopsticks"
the same way twice running. I don't need more information, since
I don't have an Atari ST, but others in this conference might.
