369.1 | Title should be "What's in Your Studio?" | ADVAX::SPEED | Derek Speed, WS Tech Mktg | Fri May 23 1986 11:20 | 5 |
| Sorry about the title of the note. I meant to type "What's in Your
Studio" as the base note and .0 was supposed to be a reply to the
base note. Screwed up again....

369.2 | Dreher's studio... | JUNIOR::DREHER | | Fri May 23 1986 18:41 | 88 |
| My studio is still has yet to have a name. The equipment in it has
taken 4 years to accumulate. Much of this equipment can be heard on
the_soon_to_be_released Commusic I compilation tape. Some of this stuff
came from my gigging days. The studio started out with a Tascam 244
4-trk but was upgraded to 8-trk Oct 85.
Console:
Tascam 312 12x4x2 mixing board (12 channel, 4 buss, 3 band parametric EQ,
8-trk monitoring, 3 aux on each ch., 2 aux on tape returns, phone,
RCA, and XLR connectors, lots of patch points)
Recorders:
Tascam 38 8-track (no dbx)
Tascam 122 cassette deck (no dbx)
Outboard Effects:
Tascam PB-32 patch bay (2)
Effectron 256 digital delay
Roland SDE-3000 digital delay
ART 01a digital reverb
Aphex Aural Exiter Type B (stereo) *on loan*
Biamp 210 10-band graphic equalizer (stereo)
DBX 160 compressor/limiter
DBX 166 compressor/limiter/gate (stereo)
Boss CE-2 chorus (for guitar)
Boss DE-2 analog delay (for guitar)
Monitoring:
Technics Tuner/amp
Yamaha NS-10s studio monitors
Instruments:
LinnDrum
Roland Jupiter 6 (MIDI)
Roland Juno 60 (DCB) *on loan*
Roland MD-8 DCB/MIDI convertor (for Juno 60)
Roland MSQ-700 sequencer *on loan*
Byter Polysynch (master clock for Linn and MSQ, synch to tape)
Kramer Voyager guitar (with whammy bar, of course)
Gallen Kruger 250ML guitar amp (stereo)
Marshall Cab (4 12" Celestian spkrs)
Audio Technica ATM-41 mic (2)
Shure SM-58 mic
Direction...
I will be soon loosing access rights to the Juno 60 and MSQ-700.
The MSQ will be sorely missed and I plan on replacing it (It has
been rumored by Dennis Savage to be $259 in NYC). I don't think I want
to go the computer/sequencing software rout right now. I'm on a
tube all day long and the last thing I want to do when I get home
is login.
The Juno is another story. I'm now in the "Shall I buy a MIDI
controller with sound modules or another synth that can be used as
a contoller?" boat. I definitely want velocity sens/aftertouch
on whatever I get. I'm keeping the Jupiter for use as a MIDI
traditional analog type sound generator (good bass and piano also).
A friend of mine has a Mirage if I need some sampling done so
I don't think I want a sampling synth. I don't think the quality
for what I can afford is there yet to buy my own.
Wish list:
MSQ-700 (my very own, I have a library of stuff for it anyway)
MIDI contoller?
DXn,TXn synth/module?
JX8P?
CZ101? (as a tone generator)
Yamaha SPX-90 effects processor
Studio quality mic (the mics I have are ok for gigging,
but suck in the studio)

369.4 | More Configs Wanted... | JUNIOR::DREHER | | Fri May 30 1986 19:00 | 7 |
| Hey, how about some more configs being listed. I'm sure there's
more than 3 out there. Len, I'm waiting for your list so we can
prove you own every piece of MIDI gear known to man and machine.
Anybody got a system based around a MIDI controller? Any MIDI
controlled robot drummers?
