Of interest to those of you using IBM's and MPU-401's: I am looking around for a good sequencer/editor and have so far evaluated Texture from Cherry Lane and MPS from Roland. I'm not too happy to report that the state of the software out there isn't that good. I am about to try Sequencer Plus from Octave Plateau. I'm hoping for better. If any of you out there have seen any others or are interested in my comments about Texture or MPS put in a reply and I'll elaborate. Dennis DTN 226-2614 LJ02/D4

I am interested in your comments on both Texture and MPS. I was so impressed by the ads for these products that I almost bought an IBM PC to run them. I did add 64K to my Apple IIe so that I would be able to run the Apple version of Texture. I am currently deferring buying Apple software because I am considering getting an Amega, but Cherry Lane claims that they will have Texture for the Amiga someday. John Sauter

I am interseted in your comments as well. I am planning to write a number of software packages and have been on the fence about whether to do the development on the PC ( mediocre machine but mature development environment) or the Atari ST (exciting but immature) . Knowing more about the available IBM PC software will help me weigh that machine better (in other words.. I thought that market was pretty saturated with MIDI stuff..but maybe there's a hole there ..) Dave Hallowell

I'm also interested in your comments. I have considered that maybe I could substitute the IBM PC with the DECs new VAXmate (IBM PC AT compatiple), use my MPU-401 and one of these software packages. Timo Lehtinen |
