I saw one in a music store in NY this weekend, but I didn't have time to play with it. Anyone have any info about it, such as how it relates to the 1000, and if it's multi-timbral? - Tom

My guess (sorry, I don't know) is that it is multitimbral like the CZ-101; i.e., you put it into "solo" mode, and then assign a program to each of of 4 adjacent MIDI channels. Each channel is monophonic (i.e., one note at a time). I saw a "big CZ-101" a while ago - don't know if it was a 1000 or a 5000, but the only obvious difference between it and the -101 was the keyboard was full size (and 5 octaves instead of 4), and it had a sequencer built into it. Anybody know where CZ-101 memory cartridges can be had? I'm tired of saving programs by writing down their parameter values and then reentering them from scratch when I trash a program by accident or run out of space in the machine. len. | |||||

If anyone is still interested, there is a review of the CZ5000 in this month's issue of Keyboard magazine. Derek |
