977.0. "In Search Of..." by KAOFS::LOCKYER () Thu Dec 14 1995 11:10

    Good Day All,

The MCS Paging susbsystem uses very, very old 1200 baud Racal-Vadic
modems. We're about to implement a new paging subsystem that should
replace these modems, but we need to set up a test environment to
ensure that the new subsystem can co-exist with the old. We thought
that we had a spare Racal-Vadic, but we can't find it, so we're now
    looking for one...

Anyone got one they can give/lend to us?

    Regards,

    Garry Lockyer

Gary, I have one at home and can bring it in. As to 'giving' it to you,
while I realize it has depreciated somewhat in value....

Oh my, someone actually conducting Digital business in the CANADA
notesfile. Does this set a dangerous precedent? :-)

Please feel free to post this sort of note here, it's probably the
lowest cost way the company provides for you to reach a large audience
in Canada but once the issue has been resolved please send me a note to
delete same to keep the clutter to a minimum.

Yes, we don't want to have to weed through piles of notes just to get
to the one or two notes posted each week!

We won't want to clutter this notes conference. It might hinder people
from finding the Sarnia Topic. (see 53.*)

Not a problem for the "next unseen" crowd but for newcomers it's
already a mess, I'd just like to not make it even worse.

In fact, the daytime temperature in Toronto on Friday was the same as a
warm summer day on Mars (this tidbit courtesy of Quirks and Quarks host
Bob Thompson) I hate to be somewhere where it was actually cold!
