Heres one for the panel..... How much does a bottle of Jack Daniels cost in Winnipeg MB. ? I was going to buy a bottle Duty Free as a gift for someone..but if its cheaper to buy @Winnipeg ... Thats for a 1 litre bottle Thanks K.R.

If what you are trying to say is that J.D is REALLY expensive in
Manitoba you would be right. Its Canada, man. Taxes, taxes, taxes.
Provincial, federal, municipal....... Canada is EXPENSIVE!!
If your American, check the exchange rate I think you`ll see it
almost evens out for you.( your moneys worth more )

For something like JD you're probably right but I am continually
suprised to discover that may items that are imports to both countries
(single malts for example) are not much more expensive here, some
speciality items are even cheaper, Warre's Warrior Port for example was
the same price in US$ in a liquor store in Boston as it was in C$ in
the LCBO. Occasionally my father in law asks me to pick up his
favourite Irish whiskey for him on a business trip and it is actually
cheaper to buy it at the duty free in Toronto on the outbound trip then
I've ever been able to find it in a US liquor or duty free shop.

NEVER
If you are coming from outside Canada, the bottle is for your own
"use".
If you say it is a gift you may end up getting bagged with duties.
