I am thinking of going to Montreal for the weekend of July the 1st. Anyone knows whether or not stores would be open on Saturday July 1st (Canada Day). How about Sunday/Monday ? I am mostly interested in bookstores, as I would like to buy my 3.9 yrs old daughter some french videos and books. Thanks Janine

Just guessing here, but if stores will be closed over any of the days,
it would be the Saturday (and open Sun and Mon)

I'm usually in Montreal for Fete de Homards (or is it Fete de Juilet 1)
but I can't for the life of me remember what's open, I certianly
don't remember anything being close in particular but since the Jazz
festival is the prime motivator for being there that weekend I might
just not have noticed.
