931.0. "Honeymoon in Vancouver" by TUXEDO::M_MCCAULEY () Thu Jun 08 1995 16:43

After much discussion with friends in Seattle, we settled on spending
our honeymoon in Vancouver - so I traded my timeshare and now we have
booked a place in Whistler for 8/28-9/1.

We could use some pointers for:

    places to see
activities (beyond the anticipated honeymoon things!?!)
good places to eat (both special ones and inexpensive ones - we'll mix)
    any special events
    ...other suggestions.

We're travelling from Seattle on 8/27 and heading down to the Inn at
Langley on Widbey Island (sp?) for 9/1 and back to Seattle 9/2 (home
to Boston on 9/3) and welcome ideas for stops along the way as well.

    thanks in advance!

It is possible to book trips in light aircraft from Squamish (sp?)
which take you up for some spectacular views over the mountains before
landing on top of one of the glaciers. (Heck... They even fly you back
    down again...)

Can't remember the name of the company that I did this with on my last
visit, but the trip was booked in Whistler itself. I'm sure your hotel
    will know the procedure.

    Have fun...

Actually you don;t have to go to Squamish. There are a number of
air sight-seeing trips out of Whistler. Check out BGSDEV::SKIING note
83.* for more info on Whistler. There is also a homepage for the
resort at http://www.whistler.net if you have Mosaic/Netscape/Lynx
    access.

If you have the time there is lots to do in Vancouver as well...
