    Could someone tell me who is the current prime minister of Canada? When
    was he elected and from which party is he from? I'll also appreciate
    any other information that you can provide about him. 
    
    I need this information for my son's school assignment. Thanks in

    Our current prime minister is Jean Chertien, a life long Liberal from 
    I believe Shawinigan, Quebec. 
             
    He is a career politician who has been in our Parliament for at least
    20 years. (anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
    
    Other than that, I don't know a lot more about him.
