    Anik was hit by a burst of EMI.  Whether extra-terrestial in origin, or
    from Earth was not mentioned.
    
    It is Telesat Canada's contention that since the surge in popularity of
    CDs and tapes, the market for vinyl LPs has collapsed.  Thus, some
    record manufacturers are jettisoning their stockpiles into outer space. 
    Amongst those following this practice are:  Capitol Records, Decca,
    and the aforementioned EMI.
