712.0. "Help and hints for an holiday in Canada (Montreal,Quebec,Vancouver,British Columbia, Alberta)" by MLN010::BONFISSUTO () Wed Jun 02 1993 09:26

Bonjour tout le monde | Hello everybody

        this is Maurizio from Italy.

I'm plannig my next holiday in Canada (good idea?), next august.

I would like to have some information about local car rental companies, airlines,
motel chains and any kind of information you think can help me, also your
ideas about what to visit or not!

I'm planning to visit Quebec, (Montreal, St. Lowrence (bay or gulf?), some
parks) and British Columbia and Alberta (Vancouver, Rocky Mountains)

Thanks|Meri beaucoup, au revoir en Canada !

    Maurizio,

For that kind of trip, I would definitely use a travel agent. Canada
is a very big country, and it would be very difficult to give you some
hints without knowing how much time you will be spending here and what
your interests are. Some parts of the country are best seen by road
and rail, while for other parts, you might as well take a plane.

You don't mention the Maritimes at all, and to come all the way here and
miss Prince Edward Island would be a shame. If your agent
can book you on the VIA (rail) trip through the Rockies, that would
definitely be a treat. And while in Montral, it would be worth a
side-trip to Qubec City (3-hour car ride), North America's only walled
    city.

Definitely, check with a travel agent. For this first trip, a package
may be the cheapest way to go.

I'd be happy to help you choose between packages.

Hi,
reading through the notefile I understand a bit about the approach to
take for visiting Canada.

Thanks for your suggestion.

When I'll 'finalize my plan' I'll ask for detailed information.
