| As practiced by the "Parti" it sure is. A true multicultural country
can be proud of what it is without having to stoop to racisim.

| Nationalism is not inherently racist or bigotted.
In practice, and Quebec is only one example among many, many activities that
could be called racist/bigotted are practiced under the guise of Nationalism.
The sign/language law is one such activity.

| I tend to agree that nationalism is not synonymous with racism and
bigotry, and that racists and bigots get pulled/pushed along in
nationalist tides.
No one would accuse a (generic) Canadian nationalist of a racist or a
bigot.
On the other hand, some Quebec nationalists would point to Canadian
nationalists and say "this is not real nationalism, the strength of
your nationalism is weak, because you don't have enough of a common
base for it - namely language and culture".

| A racist is made not born... Bigotry is developed and it is a close
kin to racism. Nationalism can be good or be corrupted by either of
the other two.
So, can any of the three be put to good uses? I think that Nationalism
that is controlled is okay, the other two have no place in society. I
would look forward to the meeting of Extra Terrestrials if that ever
happens, and I think we could learn a lot if we just learn to tolerate
the differences in each other. Just because we speak a different
language, are we different? Does the color of eyes, skin, hair or
other parts make a difference? I say no, I think we just need to learn
to develope thicker skins, and appreciate each other dispite the
differences.

| Klingon Washrooms:
situated in a little dark room amongst poisonous rose bushes and deadly
orchids, and instead of a seat you are to sit (?) on a giant sharpe
toothed open jaw of which if you survive all the other deadly stuff and
still could not complete your deed it'll bite ...
the bide (to top it all up) first washes then grinds...
Oh, yeah, and there are no books or newspapers in klingon LOOs.
