606.0. "What is skiing like at St. Savier " by RDVAX::CONNOLLEY () Wed Aug 26 1992 11:31

My husband and I are going to be going to Mt. St. Sauvier in February. Can
anyone tell me what conditions are like. We're both advanced skiiers and I
was wondering what the challenges might be and just general information on
the area.

Thanks.

Mt. St. Sauveur is a popular spot for both day and night skiing,
located right beside the autoroute (117 ?) just a short blast north
of Montreal. Nicely kept lodge, expensive beer.

I learned to ski there many moons ago. It is not particularly
challenging, but has *some* steep sections and moguls. It is basically
a series of (3?) equally stepped hills with a nice view to the east, not
much of a total vertical drop..relatively short runs.

It is close to shopping and nightlife/restaurants. I've never stayed
    overnight though...

    Hope this helps, Pat

I don't ski downhill, but as previous note said, it is close to
Montral and Saint Sauveur has many night spots and good restaurants.
If you like skiing more than after ski, go to Mont Tremblant (a little
further north) or to Mont Saint Anne (near Qubec).

drive 20 minutes to Mt Tremblant where the real skiing is,
2000+ ft of vertical drop and generally good snow for eastern Canada
