I hear on CNN this morning there was a shooting in Sydney, NS at
at McDonalds....there was only 10 seconds of news down here in the
states on this one and I have many relatives up there...any updates?

2 employees killed in a botched robbery attempt, apparently. Big
manhunt going on in the area. I don't know any more than this; it was
one of the main items on a radio newscast this morning but I wasn't
paying too much attention.

On the National last night, four McDonalds employees were shot in the
head at close range during the afterhours robbery attempt. Two were
killed and two are still alive. There appeared to be no struggle by
the employees.
This has been seven murders this year in an area that in past years
has none.
The mayor of Sydney attributes the severe rise in crime rate to the
unemployment situation in the area that he calls a 'national disgrace'.
There is a major manhunt going on with the usual call for the
restoration of the death penalty.
Sad commentary on our political and economic situation.
