    I have referenced the Canine notesfile, but that seems to be pretty
    U.S. specific as far as breeders are concerned.
    
    What I am looking for are names of small dog breeders in Eastern
    Ontario that anyone has had personal experience dealing with and can
    high recommend.
    
    We are looking for a lap dog -- a Papillon seems to be the breed of
    choice at this point in time.  We are not interested in breeding so a
    female of "pet stock" (as I'm given to understand dogs with "imperfect"
    markings are called) would be perfectly acceptable.

    No, that's not what I mean and you know it :-)
    
    Referals in notes has always been touchy because of negative responses.
    Some conferences still permit posting of referals but I'd rather not
    get into a possible rathole when there are easy ways to avoid it.

    Names of breeders can always be obtained from the local Kennel Club. 
    In your case, Susan, the Ottawa Kennel Club can be reached at 489-2398.
