| The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario has the reputation of
being the "Harvard" of Canada. From what I've heard the program concentrates
entirely on case study.
I am currently attending the MBA program part-time at York University in
Toronto. It is a mix between theory and case study. I am finding the program
good and the faculty very informed.
Laurier University in Waterloo, Ont. has a very good undergraduate co-op
program and runs a one year concentrated MBA program specifically catering to
people with undergrads in Engineering and Sciences.
McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont. has a co-op MBA program.
This is by no means an exhaustive list of the "good" programs in Canada or even
in Ontario. In large part it depends on what you're looking for in a program.

| My understanding is that the University of B.C. has a very good to
excellent rating for their MBA program, and an excellent rating for
their PhD program. The PhD program might vary within specialty areas
such as marketing, international finance, etc.
UBC does not operate on a "Case Study" basis.

519.4 | TOP FIVE MBA SCHOOLS IN CANADA | GVA01::ATKINSON | Just the facts kid | Thu Oct 31 1991 05:30 | 21 |
| My dad sent me an article from the Globe & Mail awhile back concerning
Canadian MBA schools. If I remeber correctly the top 5 MBA schools in
Canada were (not in order):
- Western (London, Ontario)
- Dalhousie (Halifax, Nova Scotia)
- Queens (Kingston, Ontario)
- U of Toronto (Toronto, Ontario)
- U of British Columbia (Vancouver ?, British Columbia)
McGill does have a business school and a MBA program.
I'm currently doing a part time MBA at the European University "campus"
in Geneva, Switzerland. The main campus is in Brussels.
Regards,
Alan Atkinson
