My wife and I (we're from Ireland) spent the last 3 weeks vacationing in Canada. We were mainly in British Columbia and Alberta. Our observations: - Canada is so vast, coming from the relatively congested Europe. - Creating the National Parks a century ago was truly visionary. - It's not easy to distinguish "Canadian" from "American". Regards, Peter. Digital, Galway, Ireland.

> - It's not easy to distinguish "Canadian" from "American". It's easy to distinguish "Canadian" from "American" on the following: - beer (Canadian - strong: American - weak) - military (American - strong: Canadian - weak) - accents (American is more colourful) - money (Canadian is more colourful) - movies (Canadian ones don't make sense) - social policies (American ones don't make sense) Kris

If you wish to understand the differences between Canadians and Canadians, see Notes 11, 43, 45, 48, 52, 123, 133, 143, 198, 206, 210, 234, 261, 278, 283, 287, 297, 323, 325-327, 329, 389 and 496 (for starters). To say that all Canadians are vastly different from all Americans is (imho) as valid a generalization as saying that all Canadians are the same as one another, or that all Americans are the same as one another. Overall, Canada is dirtier, due to its greater land area, which is mostly dirt, when you get right down to it. Although more of it is covered by snow or even ice in the winter. But don't forget Alaska. The Russians did, and look where it got them. The U.S. does not have a Grand Canal, however. This stands in stark contrast to Canada, which does too have a Grand Canal.

I'm a Canadian who lives in Dublin. And Mr. Butler has just been added to my hit list for that anti-Canadian comment. I'll give you the same, Butler. Ted "Hit the Irishman" Egri.
