| I'd say 1 Nov is gnerally too early for skiing at Lake Louise/Sunshine.
Early to mid-December would be better - one of the Calgary folks should
be able to give you more info. Out at Whistler/Blackcomb the official
start is November 22, 1991. They will start earlier if there's enough
snow - last year we started on November 8 ( it was rather limited
skiing however :-) ).

This seems like an appropriate title.
Only 2 weeks and counting before I head for Calgary. How's the snow -
can I expect some good skiing over Christmas?
Is Nakiska worth skiing or should I stick to Sunshine and Louise? - I
left Calgary in '85, so I'm not too familiar with Nakiska.
Tks John
PS Hows the temperature? - we're still getting a few days of +15C here
in Portugal!

491.4 | Cold !!! | CGOOA::BCLARKE | | Fri Dec 04 1992 10:34 | 11 |
| It was -6 Celcius here this morning ... which has been warming up from
the -20 we were getting earlier this week. The radio say's that it is
approx. 10 degrees colder in Banff. snow has been falling pretty good,
so the conditions are not too bad (for early season).
Nakiska is actually not too bad, but I would check snow conditions
before heading out. They traditionally don't open up all runs until
January. Lake Louise opened early this year and the snow is supposed
to be pretty good.
