440.0. "PC tax programs " by KAOFS::R_HARPER (This space unavailable, Digital has it now) Thu May 02 1991 13:26

Does anybody know of an IBM pc (or compatible) program
which does Quebec tax returns? I'm not looking for
    home-brew spreedsheet programs.
I have a Federal T1 version which Revenue Canda accepts it's
    printouts (on appropriately colored paper).
I was hoping there is in existance a company which writes a
    Quebec provincial equivalent.
The particular one I have (Federal) does not support Quebec
returns. I don't believe the company has one either to which
    supports the provincial returns.

Any pointers to firms or program name would be helpful towards making
next year's tax time less taxing {time wise}.

I'll post the one I used federally. It's from an Alberta based company,
but I'm sure there are lots around. It's name escapes me at the moment.

Richard,

I'm interested in the one you have now. Could you supply the name and
address (possibly a 'phone number too) of the company that's flogging it?

Thanks,

Mr. Frozen Road Apple

Thank you Sir Moderately Tepid Promenade Pomegranite!

This conversation in turning out to be quite fruitful, although in our
case it will turn out to be the pits.....

    Richard,

I have one that does tax returns for all of the provinces. It's called
Hometax, costs around $30 I believe.

The copy I have does NOT do Quebec although the Quebec version is
available on demand from the producer. I think that you get the Quebec
version by default if you buy in Quebec.

    Hope that helps.

Also use HOMETAX ... great program. I got it bundled with Quicken on
sale for $39.95. A great deal for two very useful software packages!

The one I used was called the CANTAX PROGRAM, it's widely available.

I was told it was developed by (or funded by) the taxman.
Hummmm. maybe it fudges the figures in their favour.

The price was $59. With a discount for early bird shoppers
for the following tax year to $45.
$30 for HOMETAX...with possible Quebec support built in. Certainly a
cheaper package. Worth a 'look see'.
