401.0. "Mont Tremblant lodging?" by SUBWAY::DAVIDSON (BAN Member; Ban Acronyms Now) Mon Jan 21 1991 15:05

We're considering driving up from New York City to Tremblant for a ski
week. Could anyone suggest lodging near the mountain? Additionally,
we may spend a night or two in Montreal. If we do, we'd be looking for
something inexpensive, perhaps a bed and breakfast. Any suggestions
    would be appreciated...thanks, jeff

    Hi Jeff,

The Auberge de la Porte Rouge is a motel that has been converted into a
hotel in Tremblant. I've stayed there twice, the last time being a
couple of years ago, and it is super: People great, reasonable prices,
and the food is *brilliant*. We had to drive to ski on the good
slopes, however, although Tremblant is not huge and it certainly wasn't
far. If you can get in, I would recommend taking any full pension
package that they offer. Their number is (819) 425-3505.

Also, since you mentioned Montreal, I just stayed in a great little
hotel in Old Montreal which was an experience in itself in a neat
location. However, at about CAN$80/night it may be more expensive than
B&Bs are - I don't know. I don't have the details now but will gladly
get them if you mail me @geo.

    Have fun!

We ended up staying at the Chateau Beauvellon. We had a wonderful time.
The skiing was great, the inn comfortable and the food hearty. The week
was a bargain, costing us $450/pp US for 6 days skiing, 4 four hour
lessons, 6 nights lodging, 6 breakfasts and 6 dinners.
