    Prior to posting this note, I advised the EIS and  Sales District
    Managers for Toronto, as well as the Personnel Consultant of my desire
    to post this position in your notes Conference.
    
    By way of introduction, I am Carol Rizzo, Capital Markets Manager of the 
    Finance Services Digital Customer Center. (the DCC). Our primary
    mission is to design, develop, and market integrated solutions for
    trading and investment management customers. These customers are Banks,
    Brokers, Asset Managers, Investment Dealers, Exchanges, Pension funds,
    and the Treasury and procurement divisions of the Fortune 500; (like
    Bell Northern, Shell Oil and CN.)
    
    We are seeking a Solutions Architect to develop and support our
    Canadian market. This position is a Consultant II (2), is situated in
    our Toronto (TRC) office and requires some travel throughout Canada and 
    the US.
    
    A Solutions Architect is responsible for designing solutions, like those 
    required by traders providing realtime market information that is 
    distributed to decision support, trade capture and position keeping 
    applications. Often these solutions must be integrated with the customers 
    existing hardware and software,(where feasible). The Solution Architect 
    works with a Business Consultant, (an industry expert) to design a 
    solution that satisfies the business needs. The Solution Architect works 
    closely with the customer's technology management to explain and convince 
    them of the suitability of the approach and innovative products.
    
    
    The preferred candidate would have 8+ years with DEC, is extremely
    creative and enjoys working with technology and the engineers. Feels 
    comfortable in discussing the technical merits of VAX architecture, VMS, 
    Decnet and deeply understands our NAS and AIA strategies. Communication
    skills are extremely important as this role requires articulating
    requirements to engineers. Must be capable to deliver presentations to 
    customers. Project management skills a strong plus. Other attributes 
    that would be welcome include:
    
    
    o DNA, DECnet and competitors communication software; esp SNA.
    o RISC architectures
    o Worksystems, X-windows, DECwindows, Motif, OSF Positions.
    o UNIX , Ultrix, POSIX
    o Database technologies, esp RDB and DB2.
    o Methodologies; structured analysis, design; productivity tools
