379.0. "Gateway to BNR in Ott Please?" by HKTST1::WILFRED_LUI () Wed Nov 28 1990 20:46

Could anyone tell me the gateway to BNR at Carling in Ottawa?

I was given the address as [email protected], so I tried with the
VAXmail by sending my message to NM%DECWRL::"[email protected]".
However,I get the err message as

"error creating network link to node DECWRL"
"insufficient system resources at remote node".

Since I am new in using Email or Nmail, I hope someone can help
me out. Has anyone sent a Email to BNR?

    Thanks a lot ......

    Hello.

I have not sent mail to BNR, however I can tell you that I've heard
that there are problems with DECWRL:: and that's why you can't get
    through via that route.

Rumor has it that DECWRL was experiencing problems, and that is why the
system is unreachable. But I can't see why you'd have problems with
Nmail since it should have just queued the message. Hmmm...

Best of luck, hope this is of some value to you.

379.2sysntax for BNRPOLAR::HOFFEWed Feb 06 1991 13:196
The proper syntax for getting through to BNR Ottawa is
DECWRL::"[email protected]". Your addressee must have a BNR VP approval
to access the internal VAX.I have this on good authority from a friend
of mine at BNR who has VP authority!

    Good Luck!

All of the above is correct.

I have just recently received confirmation from BNR via E-MAIL that I have
successfully established contact with the 'username' of interest.
