| Is that the city of Qubec or the province?
for the city there are a few topics dealing with it, if you need more
info, reply to this note.

Quick trip report:
My wife and I spent last weekend in Canada.
First we went up through NH-VT and headed to Quebec. We stayed at the Ramada
Inn in Saint Foy (Thanks to a tip in an earlier note). Expected to do some
shopping Saturday night and were surprised to find the stores all close at
5 PM. Hey, don't they know you can make a lot of money during the Christmas
season by staying open late? ;^)
Anyway, our all day tour was great, just Su and I plus one other Texas real
estate dude (He says he's not very busy these days, so he travels.). So the
three of us were in a tour bus (Crunch Quebec Tours) built for ~30 along with
our *British* guide named Charles (I called him Prince ;^). Great place,
love to see again in summer sometime.
After the all day tour, we got in our car and drove to Montreal. Took a
couple of "Wong" turns and ended up in a great place - the Ramada Inn next to
the Olympic Stadium on Sherbrooke. There is a Chinese restaurant, Bill Wong's,
on the other side of the hotel and is not too bad. Buffet that starts with
won ton soup; includes jumbo shrimp (all you want) on the well stocked salad
bar; hits most of the basic menu items; serves up carved beef and ham and
finishes off with a French desert table. Try it next time in the city.
Of course we went to Rue Lajeunesse off of Jean Talon, and drove around the
city before going across the river on the combo car/train bridge. Arggggh, I
dislike those steel mesh bridges! Bought some winter boots in an "M" department
store. The store was part of a nice little shopping mall that has a few food
stands in the promenade - had lunch there. Headed home! Wouldn't cha know it,
two hours out of Montreal - I lost my French accent!
Thanks to my early French classes and two years of high school study, I was
able to get by and even was able to order off the French menu. Reading the
highway signs was fun, and dealing with km and liters of gasoline etc...
Thanks Canada for a memorable experience,
Joe Lajeunesse

| TRUE!
It shows that some people DO appreciate a difference.
Jean
And mind the spelling of my name, it's Jean Des Rosiers. In the
system it's all in one word but these stupid VAXes can't deal too well
with spaces.

You could try asking your system manager to change your login ID to
DES_ROSIERS.

| We had a problem with that solution as my name is long enough and
sometimes (forwarding mail from a1 to VAXmail) it would overfill the
provided fields even without the "_"
