| Note that if you smile nicely and answer the questions truthfully like a good
citizen of either country, neither the Canadians nor the Americans will usually
ask to see any papers.

What if somebody doesn't have a driver's license. I'm basically
worried about a friend of mine who's coming with us. Will anything
that indicates U.S. citizenship be sufficient?
Thanks for your help.

| Don't carry any type of unmarked pills or drugs in unlabeled
containers. I've heard of some horror stories of the zero-tolerance
policy enforced on people crossing the border(USA SIDE). Some legal
perscription drugs in Canada are illegal (or not yet certified by the
FDA)in the USA.
As noted above smile, be honest, and 90% of the time you are waved
through. If you are traveling with camera's, expensive watches,
etc..., you can stop at the border an fill out an ownership slip so
that you don't have to pay duty on the return crossing.
come on up an see it while it lasts.

| It has always seemed harder (or scarier) to get back into the States
than when going up North, except when bringing items of any value.
The Canadian border people always seem alot nicer. No idea why.
